Menstrual Cups for the Win!
I used a menstrual cup for the first time and Holy Smokes what a Game changer it was. Why have I been so terrified of these things for so many years? I mean shit, I’m 32 years old and have had my period for like 17 ish years and I’m still using tampons. Dumb!
What led me to Finally Trying it?
Honestly, I’m so tired of spending money on tampons. They are expensive AF! and not to mention the last minute rush to go buy a box when I get the first glimpse of brownish tinted blood in my undies. These two factors alone led me to searching the web for a menstrual cup I felt comfortable with. I decided to go with the brand Saalt. To be real, it’s straight up because of the aesthetic. It’s pretty! and it’s nice to have something pretty when you’re in a not so pretty moment of the month. Plus, branding/marketing really gets me and well… they do a damn good job.
What do I love about it?
Did you know you can leave it in for 12 hours?12 HOURS! Thats over double the time of a tampon. Its reusable forever. No more spending a fortune on throw away period products. One and done!
I also love the fact that it doesn’t get waterlogged when I swim. The existence of my Summer pool party anxiety is no longer a thing. Menstrual cup for the win!
You can’t even feel it. It’s so comfortable I even forget it’s in. Honestly I forget I even have my period. It’s amazing!
What’s the best Menstrual cup?
This I can’t fully answer because I’ve only tried one and that’s Saalt’s soft cup in size small. But after posting about it on my instagram I’ve read many comments that this is everyones favorite brand. It’s soft, comfortable, affordable, and works. If I were to be a first time order’er again (now that I have experience) I would order the duo pack. The duo pack comes with two cups (one in each size) for different stages of your flow and it’s just nice to have multiple on hand.
All in all I wish I would have tried it sooner. I don’t know what I was so scared of. It’s literally the best thing ever invented for us women’s time of the month and $29 is so worth the peace of mind and comfort I have while using it. Oh and one more worthy piece of advice… They accept HSA/FSA cards so go get that Cup Girl!
